Green installations 'could boost property values'
Green features installed in British homes could well influence the value of such properties in the future, it has been suggested.
The Home Builders Federation (HBF) states that awareness of such measures is growing and the buying market may soon reflect the fact.
Consumers considering help with loans to install eco-friendly improvements may be interested to read comments from director of external affairs at the HBF John Slaughter.
He asserts that while it may be too early to assess the impact of home information packs (Hips) and their energy performance certificates (EPCs), in the coming months the monetary advantages of installing green features may become clear.
"That's the rationale for having the EPC as part of the Hip - that it will actually raise awareness of the benefits of good levels of energy efficiency and insulation would have," he stated.
The finance news follows the completion of a rollout of such packs in early December - making them a necessary part of all property sales in England and Wales.
